OeO Design Day 07
New typologies, global trends, trailblazing concepts and innovation within furniture, product and interior design were on the agenda at the OeO Design Day held at the Louisiana Boathouse on 7 June 2007.
Celebrated designer Alfredo Häberli started off by presenting the four key concepts, which have governed his work during the last 15 years: Typology, Form, Invention and Dream. All his projects start off as a small dream - and this dream has lead him to work together with renowned companies such as Alias, Authentics, Edra, Driade, Luceplan, Thonet, Zanotta and previously Bd Ediciones de Diseño, Camper, Classicon, Iittala, Kvadrat, Moroso, Offecct, Ruckstuhl, Vitra, and Volvo. www.alfredo-haeberli.com
Subsequently innovative designer Satyendra Pakhalé talked about his approach to creation and how innovation not only has to do with technology and material but also could be symbolic, cultural, social and above all poetic. His engineer-artist-design background together with his unique idiom has let him to work with established companies such as
Alessi, Bosa, Cappellini, Colombo Design, C-Sam, CorUnum, Curvet, De Vecchi, Erreti, Offecct, Magis, Moroso, RSVP, SCA, Tubes, and Väveriet. www.satyendra-pakhale.com
Finally creative director and leading trend analyst Chris Sanderson from The Future Laboratory, which publishes Viewpoint, zoomed in on new and emerging trends from the worlds of furniture, products, packaging and interiors. www.thefuturelaboratory.com
